劉宏宇，2007年博士畢業(yè)于香港中文大學(xué)數(shù)學(xué)系，現(xiàn)為香港城市大學(xué)數(shù)學(xué)系講座教授，曾任職于美國(guó)北卡羅來(lái)納大學(xué)和華盛頓大學(xué)及英國(guó)雷丁大學(xué)，研究領(lǐng)域?yàn)閼?yīng)用數(shù)學(xué)和計(jì)算數(shù)學(xué)，包括反問(wèn)題及成像、數(shù)學(xué)物理方程、散射理論和譜理論、數(shù)學(xué)材料科學(xué)、博論和生物數(shù)學(xué)。曾獲國(guó)際反問(wèn)題協(xié)會(huì)最高榮譽(yù)Calderón Prize,香港數(shù)學(xué)會(huì)青年學(xué)者獎(jiǎng)，獲聘教育部長(zhǎng)江講座教授，獲選英國(guó)物理學(xué)會(huì)會(huì)士、數(shù)學(xué)及應(yīng)用學(xué)會(huì)會(huì)士。擔(dān)任中國(guó)仿真學(xué)會(huì)不確定系統(tǒng)分析及仿真專(zhuān)業(yè)委員會(huì)副主任、國(guó)際反問(wèn)題協(xié)會(huì)執(zhí)委會(huì)委員及秘書(shū)、香港數(shù)學(xué)會(huì)CouncilMember、香港工業(yè)與應(yīng)用數(shù)學(xué)學(xué)會(huì)Board Member、香港研究資助局自然科學(xué)評(píng)議組PanelMember、及國(guó)際期刊Comm.Anal.Comput.創(chuàng)刊主編。

報(bào)告摘要：

Albert Einstein once said: “The most incomprehensible thing about the Universe is that it is comprehensible.” Following this quote, the most incomprehensible thing about biological species, including human beings, is that they are comprehensible, but in the large scale. In this talk, l will discuss our recent study of inferring the large population dynamics from observation of the corresponding dynamical behaviors.
