報(bào)告人簡(jiǎn)介:Haritz Sardon is an Associate Professor in the Macromolecules Department at the Faculty of Chemistry, University of the Basque Country (UPV/EHU), Spain. He serves as an Associate Editor forPolymer Chemistryand is an Editorial Board Member ofChemical ScienceandMacromolecules, as well as a Young Editorial Board Member ofACS Sustainable Chemistry & Engineering. His research focuses on designing sustainable plastics for the future, including scalable and environmentally friendly recycling approaches and the development of new polymers with end-of-life considerations. He has received several honors, including theACS Macro Letters/Biomacromolecules/MacromoleculesYoung Investigator Award, the Young Polymer Chemist Investigator Award, and an Ikerbasque Research Fellowship. With over 220 publications and an H-index of 52, Professor Sardon is a highly respected researcher in his field.
報(bào)告摘要: Nowadays, less than 8% of the polymers produced each year are recycled and most of them are mechanically recycled: grinding and melt-processing, to obtain a low-quality material that will also rapidly ends up as a waste.[1]Besides mechanical recycling and pyrolysis, chemical recycling of plastic has emerged as a method to retain the value of the plastics as it allows to obtain high purity monomers.[2]As plastics have been traditionally designed for durability and not for recyclability, their chemical conversion to new products is nowadays considered a grand challenge and difficult to achieve.[3]In this lectura we will summarize our main activities towards the selective chemical recycling of plastics and how we are trying ot increase current recycling rates.
