報(bào)告人簡(jiǎn)介:Feng Li is an Assistant Professor at the Faculty of Engineering at Hokkaido University in Japan. He earned his Bachelor's degree from Peking University, China, in 2011 and Ph.D. degree in organic chemistry from Tohoku University, Japan, in 2016. After completing his Ph.D., he conducted postdoctoral research in polymer chemistry field at Yale University, USA, and at école Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne (EPFL), Switzerland, from 2017 to 2020. At the end of 2020, he moved to Kanazawa University, Japan, as a Specially Appointed Assistant Professor. In May 2022, he joined his current position at Hokkaido University. His expertise is in polymer chemistry and organic chemistry. His current research interests are centered on sustainable polymer synthesis, which includes utilizing renewable biomass materials, chemically recyclable polymer materials, and developing environmentally friendly catalysts. He has received the Polymer Research Encouraging Award from the Society of Polymer Science, Japan in 2024.
報(bào)告摘要:Using biomass for sustainable polymer production is a key strategy in addressing global challenges such as plastic waste and fossil fuel depletion. Cellulose, the most abundant non-edible biopolymer on Earth, holds significant promise. Levoglucosenone (LGO) and dihydrolevoglucosenone (CyreneTM), two cellulose-derived compounds conventionally used in organic synthesis, started to be utilized in polymer synthesis in recent years. Here, new strategies and recent results on developing novel polymer materials, including unnatural polysaccharides, acetal copolymers, polyesters, and polyethers, from these two cellulose-derived compounds will be reported.
